As a Senior Business Analyst, you translate the corporate strategy into the necessary changes to achieve strategic goals. You serve as an expert in both business processes and the IT application landscape, acting as a crucial bridge between Business Line Owners and IT services. In this role, you report to the Service Manager.

You are responsible for translating strategic objectives into concrete initiatives and ensuring their follow-up. You seek solutions that consider various stakeholders and span processes, organization, data, and applications. An “Enterprise Architecture” mindset is essential, ensuring a holistic business-wide approach rather than a siloed perspective.

The role focuses primarily on strategic thinking and the reinvestment cycle of business processes and IT technology.

Additionally, you help shape the strategy for managing projects within your domain. Beyond strategic translation, you also perform core business analysis tasks alongside junior analysts, including gathering business, functional, non-functional, and technical requirements, drafting specifications, writing and monitoring tests, facilitating go-live, and driving continuous improvement after solution deployment.

As a key stakeholder and single point of contact, you oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Support business stakeholders at the management level in translating needs into concrete initiatives.
• Ensure alignment between initiatives and enterprise architecture.
• Convert strategic business developments into actionable projects.
• Conduct impact analysis on processes, organization, and applications and evaluate alternative solutions.
• Assess the impact of phasing out IT solutions on enterprise architecture.
• Translate business needs into high-level IT requirements for further detailing by functional analysts.
• Prepare documentation for end users (e.g., process descriptions, training materials).
• Take on project management responsibilities when the project size allows.
• Oversee the translation of requirements into technical solutions.
• Assist test teams in preparing for the acceptance of new or updated IT applications and solutions.
• Support change managers, change agents, and end users during deployments.
• Assist in drafting SLAs/OLAs.
• Train trainers in the effective use of procedures & systems and provide input for user manuals.
• Provide post-go-live support by identifying further improvement opportunities.
• Develop sufficient technical knowledge of applications within your domain.
• Contribute to the evolution of enterprise architecture.
• Support the enterprise architecture team in promoting best practices.
• Mentor junior business analysts.
• Stay up to date with IT and business trends by attending seminars and training sessions, and gaining knowledge of new technological advancements, modern analysis techniques, and industry developments.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a business analyst with a proven track record in complex environments.
• Expertise in business process analysis and familiarity with common IT analysis methodologies.
• Ability to think strategically and conceptually while identifying opportunities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Proven experience in defining and implementing roadmaps (5 years).
• Hands-on experience working in an Agile environment with Jira, Confluence, and Postman (5 years).
• Experience in setting up Epics, test plans, and scripts (5 years).
• Extensive experience in business process development and optimization (BPM).
• Proficiency in writing detailed user stories.
• Solid knowledge of project management.
• Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with various stakeholders.
• Pragmatic, proactive, customer- and results-oriented.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Fluency in Dutch or French, with a passive understanding of the second national language and a good command of English.
