SharePoint Architect

Looking for an experienced SharePoint Architect in Amsterdam!

The design and communication of end-to-end solutions to enable and guide the design and development of integrated solutions on SharePoint Online platform that meet current and future business needs.

Requirements

  • Relevant professional qualifications in designing cloud-based solutions (e.g.  MS SharePoint Online, Azure, PowerApps Portal)
  • Solution design, solution development and configuration on MS SharePoint Online
  • Proven record in designing and delivering end-to-end business solutions implemented across multiple components, platforms and technologies (both cloud and on-prem);
  • Experience using agile software development methodologies (i.e. Kanban, Scrum and other lean techniques); 
  • Strong knowledge Microsoft cloud technologies (Microsoft SharePoint Online, PowerApps Portal, Active Directory)
  • Experience in working with Azure DevOps or JIRA SDLC is desired

Responsibilities and Skills

  • Lead the creation and review of end-to-end domain architecture and processes to support the strategic requirements of the business. Identify the business benefits of alternative strategies.
  • Design solutions that comply with client’s Enterprise Architecture standards, communicate solution architecture and ensure it is sufficiently documented.
  • Develop and configure solutions on SharePoint Online. 
  • Contribute in the specification of business requirements and ensure that are feasible and economical.
  • Ensure compliance between business strategies, enterprise architecture and technology directions, setting strategies, policies, standards and practices.
  • Produce solution architecture deliverables. 
  • Support related to the solution architecture and ensure they are justified and documented.
  • Ensure functional and non-functional requirements are met by the system’s architecture and liaise with the stakeholders where necessary.
  • Automate business processes in SharePoint Online via MS PowerApps.
  • Provide effort and license cost estimates and work breakdown structure for the design and implementation of solutions.
  • Support the creation of proof of concepts on SharePoint Online.
  • Create and communicate multiple design views to identify and balance the concerns of all stakeholders of the domain design and to allow for both functional and non-functional requirements. Identify and evaluates alternative design options and trade-offs. 
  • Ensure that domain architecture decisions are justified and documented. Assess and manage associated risks.
  • Understand the sensitivity of client’s data and develops an access management structure based on the existing Active Directory
  • Present domain architecture to governance bodies, address resulting architectural actions and participate in the overall IT governance structures.
  • Collaborate strongly with architects in developing the solution, by applying the client architectural principles.
  • Partner with the Enterprise Architect from the CIO Office to ensure that the domain architecture fits into the broader enterprise architecture.
  • Support the development of the enterprise wide SharePoint Online architecture.
  • Contribute to solutions testing and identify potential improvements to the domain solution, processes and to the strategic platforms according to agreed designs/requirements. 
  • Collaborate with Business Analysis function in identifying and preventing risks from the requirements gathering phase and all through the lifecycle of the solution. 
  • Support continuous knowledge transfer to team members and transparent approach in sharing risks/issues/dependencies.
  • Report outcome of testing through the JIRA SDLC tool/ Azure DevOps.
  • Identify potential improvements to the process and to the software products according to agreed designs/requirements. 
  • Produce relevant technical documentation, such as system designs, class designs and documentation for the support team. 
  • Assist the support team in training the users of the system. 
  • Autonomous in managing activities based on priorities given by the Project Manager.
  • Experience working with key users in a fast paced and changing business environment to design and develop software that meets business need. 
  • Experience of the full development lifecycle of complex large scale and multi-user applications.
  • Has strong technical background, specifically the delivery of complex software systems.
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management and/or Risk frameworks, and/or international standards.

Education

  • Master level ( or 5 years of higher education) in an ICT related field . 
  • A Master can be compensated by a Bachelor and 4 years of professional experience in an ICT related field. 
  • The years of professional experience referred to above in order to fulfil the educational qualifications requirements cannot be then included in the professional experience. 
  • Traineeships during studies will not be considered as professional experience. 
  • A minimum 8 years Professional experience must be recent and proven to be in the domain of the request for services. 
  • Knowledge of English, both written and oral is mandatory 

Summary of mandatory requirements

  • Experience: Master’s degree (or 5 years of higher education) in an ICT related field + Minimum 8 years of professional experience in domain
  • Languages: English + Dutch a strong asset
  • Start: This is a freelance position. We are looking for freelancers that are able to start ASAP
