Data Analyst

Data analysis entails the usage of a variety of tools, data mining, statistical techniques, algorithmics and machine learning principles to identify trends, patterns, and insights from raw data. In the context of the Digital Workplace End-Users Support Services, the ITSM Data Analyst helps to support the operations teams with insights gained from analyzing ITSM data. Thanks to ITSM data mining/data analysis methods, the ITSM Data Analyst helps to mature the Problem, Change, Knowledge, and Incident Management processes, as well as introduce and implement automation around reporting to help optimize efficiency across the service.

Responsibilities

  • Identify pertinent data sources in the context of the Proactive Experience Center’s mission.
  • Collect structured and unstructured data and organize it into usable formats.
  • Mine and analyze data from ITSM databases to drive optimization and improvement of the operational delivery.
  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
  • Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize user experience, service level performance other operational outcomes.
  • Enhance the data collection process.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Prepare reports and data visualization for business uses.

Technical requirements

  • Ability to interpret and present ITSM related information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams.
  • Understanding of IT Service Management.
  • Proven working experience with ITIL processes.
  • ITIL Foundation certification v3 or V4 is required.
  • Proven working experience with visualizing / presenting data tools such as Business Object.
  • Advanced practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to interpret, present and manipulate data.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to form strong relationships within a matrix organization.
  • Must be self-directed, details oriented, analytical, and demonstrate ability to work within customer environment.

Languages

  • English proficient (CEFRL Level: C1)
  • Preferable 2nd language: French

Nice to have

  • Practical experience with Grafana
  • Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics:
  • regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modelling, clustering, decision trees, etc.

Summary of mandatory requirements

  • Experience: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) + Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Languages: English + French a very strong asset
  • Start: This is a freelance position. We are looking for freelancers that are able to start ASAP
