Senior Test Engineer

The Test Engineer is performing the activities from a non-functional perspective

Tasks

  • Produce test design specifications – test cases, the applicable Test Plans and to execute the test plans;  
  • Design test scenarios to ensure 100% coverage of requirements; prepare test cases (the ones which cannot be automated) and automated test scripts to test the identified scenarios;  
  • Conduct automated and manual tests to ensure the software created by client is defect-free;  
  • Execute the required test cases and analyze the results;  
  • Report on the test results.  

Knowledge and skills

  • Proven experience with testing technologies and tools (e.g., Automation Testing tools (e.g., TOSCA), Test Management tool (Qtest, QC), Requirements and Defect Management tools (Jira), Code Quality Review tools (e.g., SonarQube), Test Execution Monitoring tools (Splunk), etc.);  
  • Keen interest on quality and intense attention to detail;  
  • Ability to analyze results of testing correctly and to report on them efficiently; 
  • Knowledge of software development and testing methodologies;  
  • Capacity in writing documents;  
  • Good communication skills;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with development team;  
  • Experience and willingness of working in an international/multicultural environment.  

Proven experience performing the following tests:

  • Robustness/Resilience Tests
  • Network/Connectivity Tests
  • Penetration Testing
  • Business Recovery Testing/Disaster Recovery Testing
  • Power Supply tests
  • Deployment/Rollback tests

Some experience highly desirable performing the following tests:

  • Performance Tests
  • Soak Tests
  • Integration testing
  • Stress Tests
  • Mobile applications tests
  • Website Tests

Required experience

  • University degree (master or equivalent) in a relevant subject
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant IT experience, and 
  • Minimum 4 years of automated and manual software testing experience, and experience with Automation Testing tools (e.g., TOSCA), Test Management tool (Qtest, QC), Requirements and Defect Management tools (Jira), Code Quality Review tools (e.g., SonarQube), Test Execution Monitoring tools (Splunk). tool (Qtest, QC), Requirements and Defect Management tools (Jira), Code Quality Review tools (e.g., SonarQube), Test Execution Monitoring tools (Splunk).  

Summary of mandatory requirements

  • Experience: University degree (master or equivalent) in a relevant subject + Minimum 6 years of relevant IT experience and minimum 4 years of automated and manual software testing experience
  • Languages: English ++ French a very strong asset
  • Start: This is a freelance position. We are looking for freelancers that are able to start September 2021.
